2021 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid in Salisbury, MD
The 2021 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid is a beautiful example of what one might call “a different kind of Honda.” In fact, with its unique, advanced propulsion methods, it sets itself apart from most other mainstream vehicles entirely. At the same time, it remains a highly pleasant mid-size family sedan, with an endearingly smooth ride, nicely equipped cabin and, of course, great fuel-efficiency.
The EV variation of the Honda Clarity was discontinued last year, and no changes have been made to the plug-in hybrid incarnation for 2021. The 2021 Clarity is also sold as a hydrogen fuel cell model, but only in California, as that’s the only state to boast substantial hydrogen-fuel-cell-friendly infrastructure. Both models showcase cutting-edge technology; to learn more about the 2021 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid, read on below!

Performance and Range
The 2021 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid is powered primarily by a 181-horsepower electric motor and 17 kWh lithium-ion battery pack. There’s also a 1.5-liter four-cylinder gas engine that serves mainly as a generator for the battery and rarely drives the wheels directly. Altogether, the hybrid powertrain churns out a combined 212 horsepower.
The 2021 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid achieves an EPA-estimated electric-only driving range of 48 miles. When both gas and electric power sources are used, that range expands to an EPA-estimated 340 miles*.
Logical Interior
Inside the 2021 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid, users will find a cabin that can best be described as “logical.” It’s quite comfortable, with a spacious front region and well-shaped front seats. In back, the model provides nearly 16 cubic feet of cargo space.
Standard Safety Suite
The 2021 Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid comes with a suite of standard Honda SENSING® driver assists, along with the Honda LaneWatch system.
